In addition to traditional ballpark activities, MLB will honor MLB researcher and analyst\u00a0<strong>Sarah Langs<\/strong>\u00a0in every broadcast booth during games on Lou Gehrig Day, and raise money for the Healey &amp; AMG Center for ALS through autographed bats signed by players who were selected by Langs. Notably, Langs will throw the ceremonial first pitch at Citi Field on Lou Gehrig Day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"Styles__StoryPartContainer-sc-1mfrmm0-0 fIFA-db story-part markdown\">\n<div class=\"Styles__MarkdownContainer-dxqlie-0 btBTea\">\n<p><strong>\u201cA Langs Star\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"Styles__StoryPartContainer-sc-1mfrmm0-0 fIFA-db story-part markdown\">\n<div class=\"Styles__MarkdownContainer-dxqlie-0 btBTea\">\n<ul>\n<li>In honor of Langs, illuminated wooden stars known as \u201cA Langs Star\u201d will be displayed in each TV broadcast booth during Lou Gehrig Day games. The stars, made possible through ESPN\u2019s Karl Ravech, Christopher Owens (The Star Man) and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/projectals.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Project ALS<\/a>, will be available for fans to purchase at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.starsforsarah.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">StarsforSarah.org<\/a>\u00a0with all proceeds benefitting Project A.L.S. on Sarah\u2019s behalf.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"Styles__StoryPartContainer-sc-1mfrmm0-0 fIFA-db story-part markdown\">\n<div class=\"Styles__MarkdownContainer-dxqlie-0 btBTea\">\n<p><strong>Lou Gehrig Day Autographed Bat Auction<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"Styles__StoryPartContainer-sc-1mfrmm0-0 fIFA-db story-part markdown\">\n<div class=\"Styles__MarkdownContainer-dxqlie-0 btBTea\">\n<ul>\n<li>Beginning on June 2<sup>nd<\/sup>, MLB will run a special charitable auction at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/auctions.mlb.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mlb.com<\/a>\u00a0to benefit the Expanded Access Protocol program at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.massgeneral.org\/neurology\/als\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Healey &amp; AMG Center for ALS<\/a>. The auction will feature 30 autographed and authenticated Lou Gehrig Day bats, including players selected by Langs. The players, including some of the top players in the game, were selected based on a personal connection to ALS, their support of the ALS Community, or a symbolic connection to Lou Gehrig by either their passion for the game, character or a unique statistical connection. It is also solemnly remembered as the day he passed from complications of ALS.
